Juventus Firm on Kenan Yildiz as Arsenal Pursues

Arsenal have made Kenan Yildiz a headline target. Juventus’ response has been just as clear: forget it.

Luciano Spalletti has gone public with his stance and left no room for interpretation. Speaking to the media, the Juventus manager underlined that no bid, no matter how eye-watering, will tempt him into losing the 21-year-old winger.

“I am perfectly relaxed, because dealing with Yildiz is easy for me,” Spalletti said. “They can offer whatever they like, I want Yildiz here and will always put him on the field. His future is already important, staying at Juventus, not because there are other clubs who want to spend €100m for him.”

That message lands just as Arsenal step up their pursuit. Reports from Sacha Tavolieri in recent days described Yildiz as a “dream” signing for Mikel Arteta this summer, with the Arsenal manager said to have been pushing internally for the deal for some time. The London club are now understood to be prepared to “pull out all the stops” to try to bring him in.

The problem? Juventus are slamming the door shut.

The club’s line has not wavered. General manager Damien Comolli has branded Yildiz “untouchable” and “at the centre of our project”, and he has not tried to hide Arsenal’s interest. Comolli has acknowledged that the Premier League side want the winger, but insisted Juventus would not sell “even if they offered €100m”.

That kind of language usually signals a negotiation tactic. This feels different. It sounds like a wall.

Arsenal, though, are not walking away. They are watching. James McNicholas reported for The Athletic that the Gunners are monitoring whether the market might unexpectedly free up either Yildiz or Julian Alvarez of Atletico Madrid before the window closes. The strategy is clear: wait, watch, and be ready to move if something breaks.

So far, Juventus are giving no hint that it will. With a week or so left in the window, the Italian club continue to brief that Yildiz is going nowhere.

Arsenal are lurking. Juventus are locked in. Something has to give eventually – just not, it seems, this summer.
