There is one point of clarity. Journalist Verónica Brunati has reported that Álvarez’s wife should be able to obtain residency as the dependent partner of a worker with a valid visa. That would allow her to live with him legally in the United Kingdom if he signs for Arsenal.

The rest of the family picture is more complex, yet Arsenal are not backing away. Inside the club there is confidence that, if Álvarez agrees to the move, they can manage the visa and residency procedures required to bring his close circle to London.
