Inter Champions League Squad Confirmed with New Signings

Inter have nailed down their squad for the 2026-27 Champions League league phase – and every one of their summer signings is on board.

John Stones, Curtis Jones, Aleksandar Stankovic and Djed Spence have all been registered across List A and List B in the official submission to UEFA, confirming Simone Inzaghi will have his revamped core available on European nights.

Inter go light on List A

All clubs had to file their lists by Wednesday, September 2, the first working day after the summer window shut across most of Europe. Inter’s announcement lays out a slightly unusual approach: they have chosen to go with 23 players on List A instead of the maximum 25.

This is not a tactical gamble. It is a regulatory one.

UEFA rules demand eight “locally trained” players to unlock the full 25-man quota. Inter only have seven who meet that criteria, so their ceiling drops to 23. They fill every one of those available spots.

The seven locally trained names are:

  • Ivan Provedel
  • Raffaele Di Gennaro
  • Alessandro Bastoni
  • Federico Dimarco
  • Mattia Marello
  • Nicolo Barella
  • Piotr Zielinski

Around that core, the rest of List A is stacked with experience and fresh arrivals.

Between the posts, Josep Martinez joins Provedel and Di Gennaro. At the back, Stones headlines a defensive group with Manuel Akanji, Benjamin Pavard, Carlos Augusto, Yann-Aurel Bisseck and Spence, giving Inter a blend of ball-playing quality and physical presence.

Midfield is loaded. Zielinski and Barella are joined by Petar Sucic, Luis Henrique, Andy Diouf, Hakan Calhanoglu, Curtis Jones and Henrikh Mkhitaryan, a unit built to dominate the ball and control tempo in the tightest European games.

Up front, Marcus Thuram, Lautaro Martinez and Ange-Yoan Bonny carry the scoring burden. Three forwards, three very different profiles, one clear message: Inter trust their frontline.

Youth talent tucked into List B

The pressure on List A numbers eases slightly thanks to UEFA’s List B, which allows clubs to register younger players who meet specific homegrown and age criteria without eating into the main quota.

Inter have used that lever with Aleksandar Stankovic and Pio Esposito. Both were born after January 1, 2005 and have spent an uninterrupted period at the club, so they slide onto List B rather than crowding the senior list.

The club have not revealed the full set of youth names on that list, but Stankovic and Esposito are the headline prospects, positioned to step in if the Champions League campaign stretches the squad.

Inter now know exactly who they will march into Europe with. The question is simple: is this 23-plus-youth blend enough to turn a strong squad on paper into a serious tilt at the trophy?
