Holywell Town Secures First Point as Clarke Shines for Caernarfon

Holywell Town finally have something to show for their efforts. It took a comeback, a late strike and plenty of anxiety, but their first point of the season arrived at home against fellow promoted side Trefelin.

The visitors, still chasing a first top-flight win of their own, struck first. On the hour, Louis Phillips produced the moment of the night, spotting the keeper off his line and lifting a superb lob from the edge of the box into the net. One touch, one flash of quality, and Holywell were staring at another defeat.

The response took time. The tension grew. Then, eight minutes from the end, Harvey Morris dragged them level, snatching the equaliser that finally got Holywell off the mark. It wasn’t enough to lift them off the bottom, but it stopped the rot and gave their season a foothold at last.

Clarke punishes former club as Caernarfon climb

Elsewhere, Caernarfon Town’s rise continued and it was a familiar face doing the damage. Former Flint Town United striker Zack Clarke returned to haunt his old club, his double helping Caernarfon to a commanding 3-0 win and up to fourth.

Flint, still searching for their first victory and marooned in 15th, held out until first-half stoppage time. Then Clarke struck, opening the scoring right on the whistle to notch his first of the evening. Seven minutes after the restart, he did it again, taking his personal tally for the season to nine and underlining exactly what Flint let go.

Caernarfon were relentless. With Clarke tormenting his old side, Osian Evans joined the party, continuing his own prolific run by adding the third. Flint had no answer. No win yet this season, and another bruising reminder of the gap they must close.

Airbus flying as Peers and Calland deliver

At Old Road, Airbus made their pressure count and showed a clinical edge in a 2-0 success. George Peers kept his hot streak alive, scoring for the third game in a row to give the Wingmakers a 20th-minute lead, finishing from close range after smart work and a telling cross from Jordan Evans.

The second goal came just after the interval and it sliced through the hosts. A swift counter attack opened them up, and Oliver Calland finished it off, netting his first goal for Airbus. Two chances taken, three points banked, and a forward line brimming with confidence.

Cambrian’s gutsy comeback at Cyncoed

At Cyncoed, Cardiff Met looked to be cruising. Cambrian United had other ideas.

Spencer Dymond-Hall’s header in first-half stoppage time put the home side in control, a well-timed run and firm finish sending them into the break ahead. When Sam Jones doubled the advantage early in the second half, the game seemed to tilt decisively in Met’s favour.

The reaction from Cambrian was sharp and immediate. Seven minutes after Jones’ strike, Alex John pulled one back, sparking belief in the away ranks. The momentum turned. Liam Williams’ side pushed higher, tackles bit harder, and the hosts began to wobble.

The equaliser felt inevitable. It arrived through Harrison Bright, who drilled in from the edge of the area to complete the comeback and silence the home crowd. Cardiff Met still had a chance to snatch it late on, but CJ Craven missed from the penalty spot, their final opportunity to reclaim the points slipping away.

On a night of comebacks and missed chances, some sides left with regret. Others, like Holywell and Cambrian, walked away knowing this might just be the night their seasons finally stirred into life.
