Harry Kane Rewrites Bundesliga History with 100 Goals

The numbers were coming. Everyone in the Allianz Arena knew it was only a matter of time. But when Harry Kane finally hit 100 Bundesliga goals, he did it in a way that has defined his time in Germany: ruthless, efficient, inevitable.

A penalty, of course. A clean strike, low and precise in the 39th minute against Union Berlin, after Michael Olise had been clipped in the box. Kane walked up, England captain, Bayern talisman, and buried not just the spot-kick but another long-standing record.

Fastest to 100. In just 98 Bundesliga appearances.

That mark rips past the old standard set by Dieter Müller, who needed 129 games for Cologne back in the 1970s. Müller’s record had stood for decades; Kane treated it like just another hurdle to clear on a relentless scoring march.

The scale of it is almost absurd. Since arriving from Tottenham Hotspur in the summer of 2023, Kane has averaged a goal every 78.5 minutes in the Bundesliga. Not per game. Per 78.5 minutes of football.

Stack that against the modern greats. Erling Haaland, the benchmark for many, scored at a rate of a goal every 87 minutes during his spell at Borussia Dortmund. Robert Lewandowski, Bayern’s own goal machine before Kane, averaged 100 minutes per goal. Gerd Müller, the original penalty-box predator, came in at 105.

Kane is operating on another level.

This hasn’t been a one-season surge either. His scoring has underpinned Bayern’s domestic grip. He hit 36 goals in his debut Bundesliga campaign, followed it with 26 in 2024-25, then added 35 more last season. Different years, different coaches, same result: Kane on the scoresheet, Bayern on top.

The club’s reaction to his latest landmark said everything. No long statement, no grand tribute video needed. Just three words on their official channels: “𝟏𝟎𝟎 𝐁𝐮𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐬𝐥𝐢𝐠𝐚 𝐠𝐨𝐚𝐥𝐬.” When the numbers are this outrageous, they speak for themselves.

Across all competitions, the picture is just as striking. Kane now has 151 goals in 154 appearances for Bayern. At this rate, a double century for the club isn’t some distant fantasy. It’s a target coming into view long before his current contract cycle runs its course.

And this milestone is only one entry on an already crowded honours list since he swapped north London for Munich. He previously became the fastest player in the 21st century to reach 100 goals for a single club in Europe’s top five leagues, hitting that figure in just 104 competitive matches. Cristiano Ronaldo needed 105 games to do it at Real Madrid. Erling Haaland needed the same number at Manchester City. Kane shaved one off.

The story doesn’t stop at club level. For England, he remains the country’s all-time leading scorer, his tally now up to 70 after his exploits at the 2026 World Cup. The long-running narrative about his lack of silverware has started to fade as well. With Kane leading the line, Bayern have stitched together back-to-back Bundesliga titles in 2024-25 and 2025-26, his goals the spine of that success.

From record-chaser to record-breaker, Kane has turned the Bundesliga into his personal scoring laboratory. The only real question left is how many more marks he will erase before he’s done.
