Ferran Torres Joins Paris Saint-Germain from Barcelona

Ferran Torres is leaving FC Barcelona for Paris Saint-Germain after the two clubs reached an agreement over his transfer, ending a four-and-a-half-season spell in Catalonia.

Barcelona confirmed the deal and signed off with a public show of appreciation for the Spain international, who arrived as part of the club’s rebuilding phase and went on to become a regular in the first-team squad.

In their statement, the club underlined his contribution “throughout the four and a half seasons in which he has defended the Barça shirt” and thanked him for his dedication, adding their best wishes “in this new stage of his professional career.”

From Barcelona’s colours to the Parc des Princes spotlight, Torres now steps into a very different project. PSG, still obsessed with turning domestic dominance into sustained European success, have moved for a forward entering his prime and with experience at the very top level.

Torres made clear the move excites him. “I’m delighted to be beginning a new adventure at such an ambitious club as Paris Saint-Germain,” he said, outlining the pull of a side built to compete for major honours every season.

He also singled out the club’s hierarchy for their role in the deal. “I’d like to thank President Nasser Al-Khelaïfi, Luis Campos and coach Luis Enrique for giving me the opportunity to join the team, which I hope to help win as many trophies as possible.”
