Djed Spence Set for Inter Debut After International Break

Djed Spence has yet to kick a competitive ball for Inter, but his wait looks almost over.

The English right-back, who arrived from Tottenham in the summer for €35m, is expected to be available when Serie A returns in October, according to Gazzetta. Inter plan to have him ready for their first match after the international break, at home to Parma on October 10 at San Siro.

Spence, 26, has been on a tailored programme since landing in Milan. Inter’s staff pulled him out of full sessions to rebuild his condition after a draining World Cup run with England, where he featured in the 2026 semi-final against Argentina in Atlanta.

The former Spurs defender will continue to work separately this week, focusing on fitness and sharpness away from the main group. The plan is clear: one more week of individual work, then a return to full training.

Cristian Chivu has handed his squad a complete week off, with group sessions for non-internationals resuming next Monday. That restart date is key for Spence, who is expected to slot back in with his teammates and push towards his long-awaited debut in Nerazzurri colours.

If all goes to schedule, the right flank at San Siro will have a new option when Parma arrive. And Inter will finally get a first real look at their €35m summer investment.
