Derby County Sign Alex Mowatt from West Bromwich Albion

Derby County have landed midfielder Alex Mowatt from West Bromwich Albion on a two-year deal, sealing the move for an undisclosed fee.

The 31-year-old arrives at Pride Park just two days after Derby saw an initial offer turned down by their Championship rivals, but the Rams returned to the table and finally got their man.

Mowatt, who previously impressed at Leeds United and Barnsley, had one year left on his contract at West Brom, having joined the Baggies in the summer of 2021.

His final outing in West Brom colours came only last week, when he made his 170th appearance for the club in their Carabao Cup first-round win over Rotherham. Now, his next touch of the ball in competitive action will be in Derby white, not Albion stripes.
