Dario Osorio: Next Big Winger Move in Europe
Dario Osorio has gone from quiet prospect in Denmark to one of the most heavily watched young attackers in Europe this summer – and the queue for his signature is getting longer by the day.
The 22-year-old FC Midtjylland winger is drawing concrete enquiries as the transfer window heads into its final stretch. Liverpool, Everton and Leeds United are all tracking him, with AC Milan firmly in the race as well, according to sources in Denmark and Italy. Arsenal, too, have been on the scene for some time, having first registered serious interest last summer.
Midtjylland’s technical director has already admitted that several Premier League clubs are monitoring the Chile international closely. They know exactly what they have on their hands.
Osorio arrived in the Danish Superliga from Universidad de Chile in 2023 and has accelerated fast. He has racked up 23 goals and 18 assists in 117 games, numbers that have gone hand in hand with a steady rise on the international stage: 25 caps for Chile so far and counting.
Clubs aren’t just buying output. They’re buying a profile. Osorio is a left-footed right winger who can switch flanks, attack full-backs on the outside or cut in and shoot, and carry the ball at pace. His direct running and sharp bursts from wide areas have already drawn comparisons in style to Alexis Sanchez, and Midtjylland are convinced that kind of upside justifies a serious fee.
They have set their valuation at around €20 million (£17.1m / $23.4m) and are ready to listen to offers that meet it. Lower bids have already been turned away. Inside the club, there is a clear expectation that both Osorio and another key forward will leave before the window shuts, with senior figures describing at least one sale as almost inevitable.
That sense of inevitability is feeding the market. No formal bid has been accepted yet, but the volume and calibre of interest suggest movement is close. Midtjylland are also quietly hopeful that a tug-of-war between English and Italian sides will nudge the price beyond their initial figure.
The destination remains the big unknown. A leap to the Premier League would drop Osorio straight into one of the most demanding environments in world football; a move to Serie A would offer a different kind of tactical education and spotlight. Either way, there is a growing consensus among recruiters that he is ready for a higher level.
On Merseyside, the picture is especially intriguing. Liverpool’s intention to add at least one, and possibly two, wingers this summer is well established. They have explored options such as Bradley Barcola and Ibrahim Mbaye, and Osorio fits the age, profile and resale curve that has underpinned much of their recent recruitment.
Across the city, Everton are also in the wide-player market before the deadline. Interest in Jack Grealish remains alive, Como’s Assane Diao is on their shortlist, and Osorio has been assessed as part of that same search for more thrust from the flanks under David Moyes’ leadership.
This is no longer just a quiet scouting mission from a handful of clubs. It is a developing race. With Midtjylland open to a deal at the right price, Premier League sides circling and Milan lurking in the background, Osorio looks poised for the move that will define the next phase of his career.
The only real question now is which league – and which badge – he chooses to grow under when the window finally slams shut.
