Costantino Favasuli Completes Medicals for Napoli Loan Move

Costantino Favasuli has taken the first concrete step towards becoming a Napoli player, touching down at Rome’s Villa Stuart on Friday morning to undergo his medical tests with the club.

The 22-year-old Italian full-back is set to join from Serie B side Catanzaro on an initial one-season loan. Napoli will pay €1 million for the temporary deal, which includes an obligation to buy set at around €6 million.

A small group of Napoli supporters gathered outside the clinic to welcome Favasuli, a sign of the growing curiosity around a defender widely viewed as one of the most promising young left-backs in the country.

Last season with Catanzaro, Favasuli put together an eye-catching campaign: two goals and seven assists across 36 appearances, driving the club all the way to the Serie B play-off final. His numbers underline a modern full-back profile, aggressive going forward and heavily involved in the final third.

Interestingly, he has been deployed predominantly as a right-back, even though he is equally comfortable on the left. That versatility offers Napoli valuable flexibility across both flanks as they reshape their defensive options.

His rise has not gone unnoticed at national-team level either. In June, Favasuli made his senior Italy debut under caretaker coach Silvio Baldini, featuring in both friendlies against Greece and Luxembourg.

If all goes as expected after the medicals, Napoli will lock in a deal that brings one of Italy’s brightest young full-backs into the top flight, with the obligation to buy signalling clear long-term faith in his potential.
