An initial move has already been made, with two weeks left in the window and Como short on time to land a centre-forward. The intent is clear: they want Delap, and they have acted.

A brutal first year and a crossroads

Delap has only been a Chelsea player for a year, but the first campaign could hardly have gone worse. His stock has sunk, his role looks marginal, and the sense around the club is that a clean break might suit everyone.

Right now, both routes feel possible. The only certainty is that Chelsea are listening, and Como are knocking.

With the clock ticking on the window and the Italian side still hunting a striker, the question is no longer whether Delap should move on — it’s how quickly Chelsea and Como can turn interest into a deal.
