The Blues' pursuit of Scott, a 23-year-old midfielder, stalled when Bournemouth refused to sell despite offers reportedly reaching £68 million. This forced manager Xabi Alonso to explore other options, turning the spotlight onto Camavinga, who has been linked with leaving Madrid since Jose Mourinho took over.

Previously, Manchester United showed interest in Camavinga but instead acquired Carlos Baleba from Brighton. Chelsea now appears ready to launch a late bid for the French international to strengthen their midfield depth.

Fernandez Wants Out, City Eager to Sign

Fernandez, 25, has expressed his desire to leave Stamford Bridge early this summer. Although a move to Real Madrid did not materialize, the Argentine could still transfer before the deadline. Manchester City, managed by former Chelsea coach Enzo Maresca, aims to bring him in as a replacement following Rodri's £65 million transfer to Barcelona.

Despite City's plans to spend £86 million on Morocco's Ayyoub Bouaddi, they remain focused on signing Fernandez, underscoring their need for a high-caliber midfielder.

Chelsea is not actively seeking to sell Fernandez but has made it clear that any interested club must meet their £120 million valuation. Even so, the club is preparing backup options should Fernandez finalize a late move.

Alongside Camavinga, Chelsea monitors other midfield talents like Adam Wharton from Crystal Palace and Roma’s Manu Kone, both having impressive recent seasons.

Fernandez remains involved in Chelsea’s immediate strategy, having come off the bench in their thrilling 3-2 Premier League win over Fulham. Goals from Joao Pedro, Morgan Rogers, and Cole Palmer marked Alonso's winning start as Chelsea manager.

Following this, Chelsea pauses league play to compete in the EFL Cup against League One’s Luton Town before returning to Premier League action against Brighton.
