Barcelona's Transfer Machine: New Signings Complete Medicals

Barcelona’s transfer machine did not sleep. By Tuesday morning, the next wave of reinforcements was already walking through the doors.

After a frantic 24 hours in Catalunya, the club’s latest two additions to the first-team picture arrived at Barcelona’s official offices to complete a key step in their moves: the medicals.

Flick’s squad takes shape

Barcelona had spent weeks locked in negotiations, edging closer, then stalling, then pushing again. The breakthrough finally came, clearing the way for the club’s third and fourth major signings of the summer window.

With Anthony Gordon and Karim Adeyemi already secured, the Blaugrana have now also put agreements in place for Rodri and João Cancelo, two deals that add both steel and sophistication to Hansi Flick’s options.

The plan is clear. Both players are expected to be unveiled as new members of Flick’s squad in the coming days, with the club working against the clock to have them ready for potential involvement in Barcelona’s La Liga opener against Elche on Sunday.

Medicals at Ciutat Esportiva

Tuesday brought the formalities. Cancelo, the defender, and Rodri, the midfielder, made their way to the Ciutat Esportiva to undergo the usual battery of scans and medical checks required before the deals can be fully rubber-stamped.

Cancelo’s arrival at the club facilities was captured on camera and shared by Diario Sport, underlining how closely every step of this reshaping of the squad is being followed in Barcelona.

Rodri’s trip to the training base did not go unnoticed either, with Mundo Deportivo documenting his entrance as he moved a step closer to joining the new-look Barca midfield.

Two more signings through the door, a new coach on the touchline, and Elche waiting at the weekend. Barcelona’s summer rebuild is no longer just theory; it is walking into the building, one medical at a time.
