Arsenal Eye Pedro Neto as January Winger Target

Arsenal are already one of the most complete sides in the league, but the message from inside the club is clear: standing still is not an option with Manchester City still looming over the title race.

Even after Pep Guardiola’s departure, City have not stepped back. They continue to grind out results, and that relentless pace is forcing Arsenal to plan for another season where a huge points tally may be needed to finish top. If Mikel Arteta feels his squad is even one piece short by the turn of the year, Arsenal are prepared to act.

One name has moved firmly onto their radar: Pedro Neto.

Arsenal eye Neto as wide option

According to Fichajes, Arsenal are monitoring the Portuguese attacker, who remains a Chelsea player after a move failed to materialise in the last transfer window despite strong interest from several clubs.

Inside the Emirates, Neto is viewed as a high-level winger who fits the profile Arteta wants in his forward line. Direct, dangerous and comfortable operating across the attacking band, he is seen as someone who could deepen Arsenal’s options out wide and maintain their intensity across a long, demanding season.

The thinking is straightforward. Arsenal expect the title race to go to the wire again. To keep their level high from January onwards, they want another reliable attacking outlet, someone who can rotate without a drop in quality and offer a different angle in the final third.

Neto ticks those boxes.

Madueke’s future could shape Arsenal’s plans

There is, however, a significant caveat. Any concrete move for Neto is likely to hinge on what happens within Arsenal’s own squad during the winter window.

Noni Madueke is attracting interest, with several clubs already tracking the England international. If Arsenal decide to cash in or allow him to leave mid-season, the need for another winger becomes far more urgent. That scenario could push Neto from a name on a list to an active target.

If Madueke stays, Arsenal may feel they can ride out the second half of the campaign with their current options. If he goes, they cannot afford to be light in wide areas with City breathing down their necks.

For now, the situation is one of watchful waiting. Neto remains at Chelsea, Arsenal continue to assess, and the January window sits on the horizon like a junction in their season.

The decision is simple but brutal: is this current squad enough to outlast Manchester City over 38 games, or does the title charge demand another injection of attacking quality when the window opens?
