Zinédine Zidane Set to Be Named France National Team Manager on July 28
The Fédération Française de Football has confirmed that the successor to Didier Deschamps as manager of the French national team will be revealed on Tuesday, July 28. All indications suggest that Zinédine Zidane will assume the role.
A press conference is scheduled for 11 a.m. at the FFF headquarters in Paris, where Zidane will be formally introduced alongside FFF president Philippe Diallo.
Zidane Returns to International Football
Since leaving Real Madrid in 2021, Zidane had remained without a coaching position. Now, he is poised to accept one of the most prestigious jobs in French football. Reports say he is set to sign a contract lasting four years, which would keep him at the helm through to the 2030 World Cup.
The former world-class midfielder’s debut match as France’s manager will come late September, facing Turkey away in the 2026-2027 UEFA Nations League.
