Troy Deeney's Premier League Team of the Week: Isak, Konsa, Mitchell, Barnes Shine

After each round of Premier League fixtures this season, Troy Deeney shares his picks for the best performers. Do you agree with his lineup? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below.

Goalkeeper

  • David Raya (Arsenal): Made crucial saves once again, proving why he’s regarded as the top goalkeeper in the league. He consistently delivers at key moments.

Defenders

  • Ezri Konsa (Arsenal): Offered a reliable display, including a vital tackle on Morgan Rogers. He fits seamlessly into Arsenal’s strong squad and may be needed at right-back when all players return.
  • Ronald Araujo (Liverpool): Though previously criticized for defensive lapses at Barcelona, he’s impressed playing right-back for Liverpool.
  • Tyrick Mitchell (Crystal Palace): Scored two goals from left-back and remained consistent throughout. Despite flying under the radar, he deserves recognition.

Midfielders

  • Harvey Barnes (Newcastle): Netted a goal with a sharp finish. Despite less media attention compared to others like Anthony Elanga, Barnes has been outstanding.
  • Martin Odegaard (Arsenal): A commanding captain and leader. It’s remarkable considering some doubted his value recently.
  • Cody Gakpo (Liverpool): Created two goals from midfield. Balancing transfer speculation with performance shows great composure.
  • Cesar Palacios (Fulham) and Vitaly Janelt (Brentford): Both delivered solid, dependable performances. They may go unnoticed unless they score, but their contributions are key.

Forwards

  • Alexander Isak (Liverpool): Despite criticism and injury setbacks last season, he remains a threat. One scoreless game against Newcastle doesn’t define him; he was once tipped for the Golden Boot.
  • Kai Havertz (Arsenal): Arsenal’s best striker by far. While others like Gyokeres get hype, Havertz consistently proves to be their top finisher and most talented player.

Manager

  • David Moyes (Everton): Faced a tough transfer window and lost attacking players but still managed to secure results.
