Latest Transfer Updates: Liverpool Teen Loan, Issa Diop Joins Ipswich, Joe Willock Linked with Besiktas

Young defender Amara Nallo, 19, is close to securing a loan switch from Liverpool to Finnish club HJK Helsinki. Nallo joined Liverpool three years ago after leaving West Ham United. His debut was marked by a red card in a Champions League match against PSV Eindhoven in the 2024-25 season. Another sending-off occurred during last year's EFL Cup clash with Crystal Palace. His only clean first-team outing came during a 6-0 UEFA Champions League victory over Qarabag in January.

With Ibrahima Konate gone, chances for Nallo to break into Liverpool’s starting eleven remain slim, prompting this loan move. Journalist Eetu Ikola reports that Nallo has already appeared on HJK’s UEFA squad list as they prepare for the UEFA Conference League qualifiers against Coleraine. Whether the deal includes an option or obligation to buy remains unclear. Nallo's contract with Liverpool runs for two more seasons.

Issa Diop Signs Permanently for Ipswich Town

Ipswich Town have completed the signing of 29-year-old centre-back Issa Diop from Fulham. The Morocco international spent four years at Craven Cottage, playing 96 matches and scoring three goals. Despite his experience, Diop struggled to secure a regular Premier League spot behind Calvin Bassey and Joachim Andersen, making only 13 appearances in the 2025-26 season, eight as a starter.

Diop has committed to a four-year contract at Portman Road, with Ipswich reportedly paying around £8.6 million. He expressed enthusiasm about joining the club, acknowledging its stature and feeling confident about the move. Formerly a West Ham player, Diop was instrumental in Morocco's run to the 2026 World Cup quarter-finals, scoring a late equaliser in their win over the Netherlands in the round of 32.

Joe Willock Attracts Interest from Besiktas

Midfielder Joe Willock of Newcastle United has caught the eye of Turkish side Besiktas. The 26-year-old found it difficult to claim a regular starting role in the Premier League last season, with Sandro Tonali, Bruno Guimaraes, and Joelinton preferred in midfield.

Willock appeared 39 times across all competitions but is now entering the final year of his Newcastle contract without a renewal offer. According to journalist Luke Edwards, Besiktas are actively trying to secure his signature, and negotiations between the clubs over a transfer fee are ongoing. Newcastle initially paid £25.1 million to sign Willock from Arsenal in 2021 after a successful loan spell. He is remembered for scoring in seven consecutive Premier League games toward the end of the 2020-21 campaign, amassing 19 goals and 11 assists in 182 appearances for the Magpies.

Fulham Engage in Talks to Sign Real Madrid Forward Gonzalo Garcia

Fulham manager Alvaro Arbeloa is aiming to bring Gonzalo Garcia from Real Madrid to Craven Cottage. The young striker burst onto the scene during the 2025 Club World Cup, scoring four goals and assisting once in six games. Although his impact lessened in the 2025-26 season due to strong competition, Garcia still managed eight goals and three assists in 39 appearances. His contract at Real Madrid runs until 2030 after an extension signed last summer.

The Athletic reports talks between Fulham and Real Madrid are underway, with Arbeloa actively involved. New Real Madrid coach Jose Mourinho supports Garcia but cannot promise him the playing time he desires, allowing the club to consider his departure. Real Madrid is expected to seek some form of future control, such as a buyback clause or a percentage of any future transfer fee.
