Sunderland Set for Geertruida Exit as PSV Moves In
Sunderland look set to lose Lutsharel Geertruida, with PSV Eindhoven reported to have struck a deal for the defender. Fabrizio Romano claims the agreement is a loan with an option to buy worth around £13 million.
The Dutchman is expected to travel for his medical before signing his new contract, leaving the Black Cats facing the prospect of replacing a key defensive figure late in the window.
Everton eye Flemming after Burnley heroics
Everton have turned their attention to Burnley forward Zian Flemming.
The 25-year-old hit a brace in Sunday’s dramatic fightback against West Ham, dragging the Clarets from 2-0 down to salvage a point and reminding suitors of his sharpness in front of goal. Interest in the former Millwall star is not limited to England, with clubs in Italy also monitoring his situation.
Al-Hilal line up big-money move for Watkins
Al-Hilal are preparing a £38.5 million bid for Aston Villa and England striker Ollie Watkins.
According to Romano, Watkins is open to the Saudi Pro League switch, but Villa have already rejected two approaches from the Riyadh club. The next offer will test Villa’s resolve over a player central to Unai Emery’s plans and to their Champions League push.
Arsenal push on with Arteta contract talks
Arsenal chief executive Richard Garlick insists the club are steadily working towards tying down Mikel Arteta to a new deal.
Speaking to Sky Sports, Garlick said discussions have been running “for a number of months” and described them as “very constructive and very progressive.”
“We’ve got a transfer window to navigate over the next couple of weeks, but we’ll look to conclude that as soon as we can,” he said. “He wants to be at this club, and we want him to be at the club, and I’m sure we’ll find the solution sooner rather than later.”
Sunderland face Mehalie blow
Dayann Mehalie’s potential move to Sunderland would be a coup on paper, but it underlines the scale of competition for the Toulouse full-back.
The 20-year-old impressed in Ligue 1 last season and has drawn attention from across Europe, not just Wearside. Landing him would be a statement; losing out would underline how crowded the market is for elite young full-backs.
Manchester United chase two more signings
Manchester United are not done yet.
Reports suggest the club want two more additions before the window closes, with Newcastle’s Lewis Hall high on the list as a left-back option. Newcastle, though, are determined to keep the former Chelsea defender.
United are also working on bringing in another midfielder as they try to reshape a squad that has already undergone significant change this summer.
Gavi turns United down
United have suffered a major setback in midfield.
According to the Manchester Evening News, Barcelona star Gavi has rejected a move to Old Trafford. The report states United were prepared to meet the £35 million asking price, but the Spain international chose to remain in Catalonia.
Ndiaye valuation set at £70m
The price for another United target is climbing fast.

Garlick sets out Arsenal transfer stance
Richard Garlick has also laid bare Arsenal’s transfer ambition.
He revealed the club have been targeting players who can “change the dial” as they look to stay at the very top of English and European football. The Gunners made ambitious moves for Vinicius Junior and Julian Alvarez but missed out.
“In the past we’ve looked at players that maybe helped build out the squad or get us to a certain level,” Garlick said. “But now we’re competing right at the top level, and we do need to bring in players that are going to change the dial.
“If we’re able to combine those players that are coming through the academy with some of the best players in the world then we’ve got every chance of maintaining that success and going beyond what we’ve already achieved.”
Wan-Bissaka closing in on Villa return
Aaron Wan-Bissaka is on the verge of a Premier League return with Aston Villa.
West Ham have agreed to let the former Manchester United right-back leave on loan with a mandatory buy clause at the end of the season. Wan-Bissaka has been given the green light to travel to the West Midlands for a medical as Villa continue to reshape their defensive options.
Saudi interest in Kane
Harry Kane’s future is back under the spotlight.
talkSPORT report that Al-Hilal have held talks with the Bayern Munich striker’s representatives as he enters the final year of his contract in Germany, and that “the door has not been shut” on a possible move.
For now, the expectation is that Kane will stay at Bayern this season, but Saudi interest has not gone away.
Rodri bids emotional farewell to City
Rodri has opened up on his decision to leave Manchester City for Barcelona, insisting his bond with the club will endure.
“It’s not like I miss [City] because I don’t feel like I’m leaving. I think I’m just moving to another club, but my heart will always be linked to the city and to the club,” he said.
“Seven years is the right moment to say goodbye, to write a good story. Both parts, club and player, we’re proud of this, and this was the reason for my decision. My heart will always be blue all my life. And they always have Rodri for anything they need.”
Barcelona’s big outlay for Rodri
Barcelona have paid a premium to prise Rodri from City despite the midfielder being in the final 12 months of his contract.
The Catalan club have agreed a reported fixed fee of £60 million. Rodri will earn around £11 million per season, working out at more than £210,000 per week on a four-year deal that runs until he is 34.
Fofana at centre of Premier League tug-of-war
Youssouf Fofana’s future is turning into a battle between Newcastle and Nottingham Forest.
Matteo Moretto reports that Newcastle have already enquired about the AC Milan midfielder after the Serie A club informed the France international he is no longer part of their plans. Forest are also in the hunt as they look to add steel and energy in the middle of the park.
Wolves move for Cozier-Duberry
Wolves have made an enquiry for Brighton winger Amario Cozier-Duberry.

The agreement includes an option to buy set at €8 million, with a further €2 million in performance-related add-ons. The Italian goalkeeper heads to Turin to strengthen Juve’s goalkeeping department for the rest of the campaign.
Fullkrug heads back to Werder Bremen
Niclas Fullkrug is returning to familiar ground.
West Ham United have confirmed the striker has rejoined Werder Bremen on loan for the 2026/27 season. Sky in Germany report that the deal includes an option to make the move permanent, with the 33-year-old agreeing to a wage cut to push the transfer through.
Under contract at the London Stadium until 2028, the Germany international goes back to the club where he began his senior career in a bid to reignite his form.
Everton still hunting right-back solution
Everton chief executive Angus Kinnear has admitted the club will miss their target of signing a new right-back before Saturday’s Premier League opener against Crystal Palace.
Speaking to BBC Radio Merseyside, Kinnear said David Moyes will have to start the season without a natural right-back, although Jake O’Brien has done a “sterling job” filling in.
“The players we thought we had the option of are still available for us… I’m confident that we’ll bring a right-back in. It’s a position we’ve needed,” he said, acknowledging fans’ concerns but insisting the club are “working hard” to get the deal done.
Southampton battle to keep Scienza
Southampton are fighting to hold on to Leo Scienza as Premier League clubs circle the Brazilian playmaker.
The 27-year-old was a standout performer last season, scoring seven goals and providing nine assists in the Championship as Saints narrowly missed out on promotion. The club are determined to keep the core of that side together.
A sizeable bid could yet change the picture at St Mary’s.
