Roma Shows Strong Interest in RB Leipzig's Antonio Nusa Amid High Transfer Fee
Roma is seriously considering a transfer bid for RB Leipzig winger Antonio Nusa, according to Gazzetta dello Sport. The 21-year-old Norwegian attacker has come under the spotlight after Roma's recent losses of Mason Greenwood, who moved to Fenerbahce, and Crysencio Summerville, now at Al-Hilal.
The Serie A club has already reached out to Leipzig's senior management to discuss a possible deal. Yet, Leipzig is set on a steep price, reportedly demanding between €50 million and €60 million for Nusa, whose contract extends until 2029.
Roma Eyes Alternatives Due to Price Tag
With the asking price proving quite high, Roma is investigating other options to bolster their attack. Candidates on their radar include Benfica's Andreas Schjelderup and 1. FC Cologne's 19-year-old Said El Mala, who is also attracting interest from Borussia Dortmund.
Other Clubs Following Nusa
Nusa's talent has not gone unnoticed beyond Italy. Earlier reports in June noted interest from English clubs like Newcastle United and Arsenal. According to the Newcastle Chronicle, a number of clubs admire Nusa’s pace and versatility, including Juventus, Tottenham Hotspur, and Crystal Palace.
Bayern Munich has also been linked with the Norwegian winger but a move there seems unlikely since they have already secured Ismael Saibari from PSV Eindhoven as their left flank reinforcement.
Player Background and Performance
Antonio Nusa transferred to RB Leipzig from Club Brugge in the summer of 2024 for a fee of around €21 million. He quickly became a regular starter, capable of playing on both wings.
Last season, he appeared in 35 matches across all competitions, netting five goals and assisting four times, demonstrating his growing influence in Leipzig’s attack.
