Best Options to Stream EFL Championship Matches Online
The way fans watch the Championship has changed a lot. While key games are still shown on the main Sky Sports Football channel, the big shift comes with Sky Sports+. This expanded service offers over 1,000 live EFL matches yearly, ensuring each Championship club appears at least 20 times on air. For details on access, pricing, and plans, check out guides on Sky Sports+.
Sky Sports+ brings all Championship action directly to your screen.
For those who want to avoid satellite dishes, Sky Stream is a modern alternative. This device plugs into your home Wi-Fi and provides the full Sky TV experience without a dish. Current bundles include channels like Sky Atlantic and Netflix for about £15 monthly. Adding the full sports package usually costs around £35 monthly.
Unlike older Sky Q boxes, Sky Stream is built to handle many live streams simultaneously on Sky Sports+. Switching between games is easy using the Red Button or the updated Sky Sports app. Whether you pick the flexible monthly NOW subscription or the integrated Sky Stream experience, every moment of the promotion race is accessible. Watching EFL Championship Games Without Paying
If you want to follow the Championship without a subscription, ITV remains the only free-to-air UK broadcaster for the EFL. The current deal lasts through the 2026-27 season. ITV shows every goal from the Championship, League One, and League Two.
The main English Football League Highlights show airs every Saturday at 9 PM on ITV4, delivering a fast-paced summary of the day’s events. Missed the slot? It replays later on ITV1 and again Sunday mornings, offering several chances to catch up.
Besides highlights, ITV broadcasts 10 live Championship matches each season. These select games simulcast with Sky Sports, letting viewers watch full matches free of charge. On the move? All highlights and live games stream on ITVX, ITV's digital platform.
Short clips and goal highlights also appear on the Sky Sports Football YouTube channel and the official EFL website shortly after matches end. This makes following your team without cost easier than ever in 2026.
