Arsenal Keeps Tabs on Bradley Barcola Despite Missing Morgan Rogers to Chelsea
Arsenal remain interested in signing Bradley Barcola, the 23-year-old attacker from Paris Saint-Germain who has also attracted attention from Liverpool. After failing to secure Morgan Rogers—who moved from Aston Villa to Chelsea—the Gunners are considering reviving their pursuit of Barcola as they look to strengthen their attacking options.
Barcola's Rising Profile and PSG Situation
Barcola made a name for himself during the recent World Cup, scoring three goals in eight matches for France, which has increased demand for his talents. According to Sky Sports News, PSG might be willing to let him go if a suitable offer arrives before the transfer window closes. The European champions are keen on signing Yan Diomande, which could open up space in their squad and push Barcola to seek regular playing time elsewhere.
Currently, Barcola is behind players like Ousmane Dembele, Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, and Desire Doue in the team hierarchy. Despite this, PSG still value him and would prefer to keep him unless new signings force changes.
Competition From Liverpool
Liverpool are firmly in the running to sign Barcola as they continue to adjust their attack, preparing for the post-Mohamed Salah era. They have already secured Víctor Muñoz from Osasuna but aim to add more wide players this summer. The Reds admire Barcola greatly, but the main challenge lies in striking a financially feasible deal with PSG. Manager Andoni Iraola has acknowledged the need for another winger, and Liverpool have also approached Monaco's Maghnes Akliouche as part of their transfer plans.
Arsenal’s Other Transfer Activity
Meanwhile, Arsenal are close to signing Christos Tzolis from Club Brugge for around £34 million. The Greek winger is expected to fill the void left by Leandro Trossard’s departure. The club’s interest in Barcola fits into their wider strategy to bolster attacking options after missing out on Rogers.
