Despite Newcastle's determination to keep their key player, Arsenal’s interest continues to grow, signaling one of the transfer window’s most notable pursuits.

Earlier discussions suggested Arsenal was willing to offer around £60 million, but now they have raised the bid to £70 million. Guimaraes himself has communicated his wish to move to the Emirates Stadium to Newcastle, which could speed up negotiations significantly in the coming days.

While Arsenal’s window started slowly, they’ve already secured Christos Tzolis from Club Brugge for £34 million and made Piero Hincapie’s loan spell permanent with a £34 million deal after his time at Bayer Leverkusen.
